This has been a great 2004-2005 school year for Mrs. Secker’s ESL 4 English classes!

Among many accomplishments, we’ve compiled and created a take-home-souvenir-literary magazine of our best representative writing. This class has not only been “kings and queens of English grammar” (their other language), but they’ve also become fine poets and persuasive writers. One of us was able to read her poetry at a combined WNHS/WWSHS poetry reading sponsored by the WNHS Live Poets ’ Society.

Another has had her life story published as a book.

We have studied a great American novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, and have performed and taped a scene from the play-version of that novel.

The students pictured are holding a copy of our own ELL (English Language Learners) Four Magazine. If you have a chance to examine a copy, we think you’ll see why their teacher is so proud of them. As one of our graduating seniors put it so well, “Enjoy the bouquet-celebrate the rainbow.”
